Who we are
For ten thrilling days every two years, Ten Days on the Island, Tasmania’s state-wide biennial multi art-form festival is unleashed across the island. A unique event in Australia, Ten Days is the premier celebration of culture in Tasmania. With almost 250 events in 99 venues in over 50 locations, the 2009 event impacted on the lives of 195,000 Tasmanians and visitors.
Theatre, dance, visual arts, music, film, opera, literature. Indoors and outdoors. Ticketed and free. With artists and performers from island cultures across the globe, coupled with the cream of Tasmanian and Australian artists, the Ten Days programme has something to offer everyone. From Franklin to Flinders Island, Sorell to Smithton, Ten Days is truly a Tasmania-wide celebration.
The 2011 programme was launched in November 2010; the festival bursts into life in the cities and towns of Tasmania, for the sixth time, from 25th March – 3rd April 2011.
